SIKH AAJ KAL (a poem by Angad Singh)
September 9, 2009 by Angad Singh
"SIKH AAJ KAL" (No Time for God)
I keep the World prior to everything,
Money, Fame is that all I Sing,
I believe that “Everything” is here to stay,
“Religion” is a long process, so I keep my life from it miles away,
In my OLD AGE, I’ll surely start to Pray,
But For Now............ I DONT HAVE TIME,
My heart is beating, so much work is pending,
Watch is ticking, My Phone is ringing..... Ohh...God!!
I DONT HAVE TIME, DONT HAVE TIME FOR U.
Watching a Movie, Ahh...I can sit for 3 hours,
But talking “Religion”, Ohhh...it’s like trapped inside bars,
Endlessly, I can chat with my friends,
Taking your “Name”, “PENDING” is the message my heart sends,
But For Now............ I DONT HAVE TIME,
My heart is beating, so much work is pending,
Watch is ticking, My Phone is ringing..... Ohh...God!!
I DONT HAVE TIME, DONT HAVE TIME FOR U.
“ONLY” 24 hours is what” you” give,
Study, work, friends, family ...so much to live,
“Work is Worship”, is what” you” always say,
Now I am doing work, how can I take your” Name”,
I think, I don’t find any other way..
But to say.............. I DONT HAVE TIME,
My heart is beating, so much work is pending,
Watch is ticking, My Phone is ringing..... Ohh...God!!
I DONT HAVE TIME, DONT HAVE TIME FOR U.
GURSIKH or SARDAR, Ohhh... it’s the same,
To be a SARDAR, is not a “Game”,
SARDARI for me is going to Gym,
Flirting with girls, and then changing my SIM,
Finishing the bottle of beer at one take,
Cutting and Shaving my hair, for my beloved’s sake,
No Matter if I Don’t Look Like a SARDAR,
I am a SIKH from INSIDE, Any problem with you???
I’ll Kill you, if u Call me “HINDU”
I repeat myself...... I DONT HAVE TIME,
My heart is beating, so much work is pending,
Watch is ticking, My Phone is ringing..... Ohh...God!!
I DONT HAVE TIME, DONT HAVE TIME FOR U.
“Angad Singh” wishes to ask you few things: -
From where do you get?
The “courage” to laugh at jokes made at your name,
The “courage” to sell your “soul” in the name of fame,
The “smartness” of doing wrong, and giving others the blame,
The “heart” to drink, to shave and cut, and to play the dirty game,
God gave a “message” for you, and asked me to convey,
“Ohh... “such” Sikh, I’m Looking at You,
You call yourself a SIKH from INSIDE,
But all can I see is just “EMPTY” INSIDE,
You do all wrong, and think you can hide,
You’re acting smart, but you’re fooling yourself,
Power of “Truth” will disclose your inner self,
NOTHING else works at my place,
“ONLY TRUE GURU’S NAME”, shall give you grace,
Now you have to choose whether “WIN or LOOSE”,
I know YOU DONT HAVE TIME,
But for few seconds............
Just “feel” these words.........and
FEEL THE GOD INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one old post
How does the puppet of clay dance? (means we human being....)
He looks and listens, hears and speaks, and run around.
When he acquires something, he is inflated with ego.
But when his wealth is gone, then he cries and bewails.
In thought, word and deed, he is attached to the sweet and tangy flavors.
When he dies, no one knows where he has gone.
say Ravi Daas, the world is just dramatic play, O siblings of destiny.
I have enshrined love for the Lord, the star of the show.
from Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang.487...(Holy scripture of sikhs)
SO THIS IS FOR YOU ALL TO THINK SPIRITUALLY... SOME TIME WE SHOULD DO... SOME SORT OF MEDITATION OR PRAYERS....BELIEVE ME IT GIVES SUCH A CALMNESS AND ENERGY THAT YOU WILL KEEP IT DOING REST OF YOUR LIFE..... AND WHO KNOWS... THAT U WILL FIND THE PURPOSE OF BEING IN THIS PLANET......

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
We were (Most of us), who brought up in Sikhism atmosphere, were taught that there are 5 bad habits or vices from which we should refrain at any cost and these five bad habits are kaam, karodh, lobh, moh, ahnkar… and we daily pray in our ardaas that “hey Almighty please save us from these five vices”..
Recitation and listening to that prayer become so mechanical that we set our mind on these vices only and feel guilty when any of the habit happen to occurs within us and we again pray “waheguru ji, Kaam, Krodh, Lobh Moh & Ahenkaar to baachana….”
And set our mind that Guru Ji asked us to stay away from only these five vices…
Then time comes, when we recite Sukhmani sahib and come to know that “Sant Ki Ninda” is another thing, from which we should refrain of as Bani says
The slanderer of the Saint is the worst evil-doer.
The slanderer of the Saint has not even a moment's rest.
The slanderer of the Saint is a brutal butcher.
The slanderer of the Saint is cursed by the Transcendent Lord.
The slanderer of the Saint has no kingdom.
The slanderer of the Saint becomes miserable and poor.
The slanderer of the Saint contracts all diseases.
The slanderer of the Saint is forever separated.
To slander a Saint is the worst sin of sins.
O Nanak, if it pleases the Saint, then even this one may be liberated. ||3||
Again our elders limit us to refrain from “Sant ki Ninda” and keep on telling us in many occasion that do not slanders any sant and baba ji, even if you feel these baba or sants are not genuine….
We entirely forget that our Guru Ji asked us to refrain from any type of slanders to anyone and in many places in gurubani, Guru Ji reminds us…
Gauree:
Slander me, slander me - go ahead, people, and slander me.
Slander is pleasing to the Lord's humble servant.
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਬਾਪੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ निंदा बापु निंदा महतारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Slander is my father, slander is my mother. ||1||Pause||
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ निंदा होइ त बैकुंठि जाईऐ ॥ If I am slandered, I go to heaven;
the wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within my mind.
If my heart is pure, and I am slandered,
ਹਮਰੇ ਕਪਰੇ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਧੋਇ ॥੧॥ हमरे कपरे निंदकु धोइ ॥१॥ then the slanderer washes my clothes. ||1||
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹਮਰਾ ਮੀਤੁ ॥ निंदा करै सु हमरा मीतु ॥ One who slanders me is my friend;
the slanderer is in my thoughts.
The slanderer is the one who prevents me from being slandered.
ਹਮਰਾ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਲੋਰੈ ॥੨॥ हमरा जीवनु निंदकु लोरै ॥२॥ The slanderer wishes me long life. ||2||
I have love and affection for the slanderer.
Slander is my salvation.
Slander is the best thing for servant Kabeer.
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਡੂਬਾ ਹਮ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥੨੦॥੭੧॥ निंदकु डूबा हम उतरे पारि ॥३॥२०॥७१॥ The slanderer is drowned, while I am carried across. ||3||20||71||
But unfortunately, we find that our community in particular including our elders, peers, religious leaders and all are HIGHLY engross in slandering… you can find in all forms … mother in law & daughter in law then relatives Vs. Relatives, Neighbors Vs. Neighbors, Gurudwara committees members.. And list is countless.. Most of the time we keep our self busy in doing some or other kind of “ninda” of others
I was shocked to see one video where one group in hazzoori of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.. we discussing and supporting “dasam granth” with many leading knowledgeable gursikh (I Wish some one can provide link for that video) and slandering Prof. Darshan Singh Khalsa openly and when one speaker was speaking in favor of dasam granth by giving some very good examples from dasam granth but not saying any word about Prof. Sahib, then one organizer stood up and came to him and said in his ear(which is quite laudable ) that “ arre darshan singh baare kuch bolo “ (say something about darshan singh) and those all gathering are of knowledgeable gursikhs…
They do not offer even a handful of water,
while they slander the one who brought forth the Ganges. ||2||
So we should awake now and propagate guruji message that …..
Slandering, in any form and to any one is categorically advised to refrain from..
Bhul Chuk Di Khima....
Disclaimer:- During the gossips, many times i myself start slandering.. Guru Ji bless me and all of us so that we can spend gossip time or slandering time in Gurmat vichar with family, friends and community.
Because of excess slandering(among members, another religion, dasam granth etc.) in our cyber community like orkut's sikhism and sikh community, now many person dont feel like visiting those sites.

Fourth Mehl:
Gur saṯgur kā jo sikẖ akẖāė so bẖalkė uṯẖ har nām ḏẖiāvai.
One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name.
Uḏam karė bẖalkė parbẖāṯī isnān karė amriṯ sar nāvai.
Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar.

Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased.

Fir cẖaṛai ḏivas gurbāṇī gāvai bahḏiā uṯẖḏiā har nām ḏẖiāvai.
Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord's Name.
Jo sās girās ḏẖiāė mėrā har har so gursikẖ gurū man bẖāvai.
One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food - that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru's Mind.
Jis no ḏaiāl hovai mėrā suāmī ṯis gursikẖ gurū upḏės suṇāvai.
That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is kind and compassionate - upon that GurSikh, the Guru's Teachings are bestowed.
Jan Nānak ḏẖūṛ mangai ṯis gursikẖ kī jo āp japai avrah nām japāvai. ||2||
Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of that GurSikh, who himself chants the Naam, and inspires others to chant it. ||2||
For this, i guess, i have to take first step to sleep early??? it is being said that you take one step toward guru and guru will take thousand steps toward you.... i know that our one step makes a differece... yes one step towards guru will make a lots of difference in your life.. at least happened with me..

Is it true reflection?????
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
I was excited to see a booklet on sikhism at Wadda Gurudwara, Singapore and had all praise in my mind for management to educate sangat particularly non-sikh about sikhism so i took one copy for myself so that i can give to someone who wants to know about sikhism as this thin booklets is good way to start with
I started reading and found that it may confuse beginner about sikhism particularly the following excerpt from booklet seems to be highly objectionable at least to me.
i dont want to put myself in this controversy whether meat eating is ok in sikhism or not but i really found this a bit weird that it is propagated at gurudwaras. IS it True reflection???
Humble appeal to Central Sikh Gurudwara Board, Singapore(Publisher of the booklet) to withdraw these booklet in light of following gurmat vichar
Kabīr bẖāʼng mācẖẖulī surā pān jo jo prānī kẖāʼnhi.Ŧirath baraṯ nėm kīė ṯė sabẖai rasāṯal jāʼnhi. 233"O Kabeer! Those mortals who consume marijuana, fish and wine - no matter what pilgrimages, fasts and rituals they follow, it all goes to waste and is of no use. 233"(Ang 1377)
Another point which looks a bit undigested is " Freedom of Worship" it says to practise whatever religion one wished and whatever way ... really so now we can do all brahamanical practices and rituals????
On Page 16 it says "Sikhs believe that one sikh is a sikh, two sikhs is an assembly, and five sikhs is God." is it really a true reflection of sikhism which is portrayed in this booklet??
